A blind date

You know what it is like when you meet someone and feel like you have known them for a long time? Well, I had the pleasure today to meet two of my favorite bloggers – Tammy of Spilling my Coffee Beans and Katie of Maylee Bezzer. Katie also had her friend Beth with her.

What could have been a potentially awkward meeting “Uh, hi, I’m the forks and chopsticks lady” turned out to be like meeting old friends. We met at the Philadelphia Zoo where the kids ran around, we talked and just had a great time. I am so glad that we were able to finally get-together. Our adoption agency hosts a Chinese New Year party each year and I think that my husband, daughter and I might attend it next year just so I can run into these gals again!

Below is a pic of our kids (Tammy’s son had his face painted like a puppy dog):

And is this not the cutest – Leah and Tammy’s son out for a little stroll. Too sweet!

Weird huh? Hi, I’m the lady who’s always Spilling my coffee (and beans). No awkward moments – could’ve chatted all day. We had a great time & the kiddos were worn out.

I look forward to the CNY party & the scrapbook weekend in the fall. Not sure if Brent will hold out that long without seeing Miss Leah – I think he has a crush.

    Talk soon!

That is great but I have to admit that I am a tad jealous. I want to meet some of my bloggy friends in person!! I would have never guessed at the connections I’ve made -cyberwise or not. Sounds like it was fun!!

Fun, fun, fun! Nothing better than meeting bloggy friends. It’s my new favorite hobby. 🙂

That’s the greatest. I have loved meeting a few of my blogger friends. I’d love to meet them all. I want to get M3s habit!

Funny how it is almost always such a good thing when you meet women that you met online first. Whew, I can’t say that about men up to now. No more of that business LOL.

That’s great. What’s funny (or scary?) is that recently, I’ve come to realize that a lot of my mama pals are mom bloggers I’ve met online. Glad you had a fun first meeting!

Sounds like fun! Meeting up with fellow bloggers sounds like a great idea!

    Keep smilin!

I had a blast yesterday and the reason I haven’t commented on your post sooner and have yet to post about the day myself is pure exhaustion. The best kind of tired is from doing a fun activity with fabulous friends (bloggy and otherwise). You and Leah rock and I really enjoyed talking with both of you. Perhaps our next meet up besides scrap-booking and CNY could be closer to your neck-of-the-woods! Everyone out there should know that you and Leah are a whole lotta fun (Tammy, Brent and Alison too!)

P.S. I better be invited to Brent and Leah’s wedding! Those two were sooo cute!

Looks like you had a fun time! I would love to meet some of my blogging pals.

Awww!! Love the hand holding shot! I get the “blind date” thing. Over the past couple of months I’ve had one gathering that was wonderful and one that just sorta fell flat. Sounds like you guys (& your kiddos) had a real Love Connection!! Did you hit any yarn shops??? (wink)

Awesome! That is such a cool thing to meet people you already know through their blog. Leah and Tammy’s son obviously hit it off. I think she would be fine if she had a baby brother instead of sister. Remember when I came here to Hawaii and got together with all the woman from the ivillage Hawaii message board? Of course that was the old days (4 years ago). Now we have blogs. Anyway I am going to tell everyone over at my blog to take a look at this cause it is such a cool post.

That looks like a lovely day! Hey I was adopted and met my birth mother this year. Not really relevant to your day at the zoo, but I noticed that adoption is part of your blog theme so I thought I would share!

  18. 18 Tracy July 26, 2006 at 10:56 am

How fun. Good for you guys putting that day together!

  19. 19 Trish July 26, 2006 at 7:30 pm

It is a different sort of thing when we meet people we’ve ‘bonded’ with online. On some level, they know you better than people in real life that you’ve known for years.
I’m glad you all had a great time!

  20. 20 Stacy July 26, 2006 at 10:44 pm

So cool that you all got together. If you’re ever in the Boston area, let me know – we’ll get Amy & Ruby and meet you by a tall ship or something …
