Getting back into the swing of things

Maya Hong Kong2After being home a week, we are now all starting to get over the jet lag. Today also marks the third week in which I have been a parent of two kids. I haven’t taken a picture of the girls this whole week, so for all of you who have requested a picture of Maya, here’s one from Hong Kong.

Over this past weekend we attended a BBQ at Heather’s lovely home. Thank goodness Maya falls alseep EVERY TIME we are in the car, otherwise the one and a half hour round trip drive might have been an interesting one. As it was, Leah and I chit-chatted while Maya slept the whole way there and back. It was nice to finally meet Heather, who I have been corresponding with via e-mail for quite a while. I also met a few new people, some of which are still waiting to adopt their little girls. You can see pictures of Maya and I (and one of the back of Leah’s head) over at Heather’s blog.

This week will officially start my first full week as a stay at home mom (not really counting tomorrow, when I will be over at my parents for the day). Hmm, we will see how this goes! I went grocery shopping yesterday with Maya, who was asleep in the car seat (big surprise) and was approached by a little old lady who said, and I quote:

How old is she? She is so cute and I bet she must resemble her Mommy when she wakes up since you two have the same shape eyes!

Yep, I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried!

Hey there! Glad you’re getting over your jet lag and the time change. Hope all of you are doing well.

Does Leah start school after Labor Day? What a big year in your family – new baby and little one off to kindergarten.
