First day

first day of kindergarten 2Today was a big day for our little girl. Just a few minutes ago, Leah jumped on a bus to attend her first day of Kindergarten. Our school district had been working on some construction at the high school, so our first day was delayed (hence the late school year start). Anyway, I am proud to say that there weren’t any tears (by myself or Leah) and I just can’t believe that she is in elementary school! Where did the last five and a half years go?

As someone once said, the days are long, but the years short. That certainly is the truth. Oh, and the hat is not some new fashion wave in the schools – each kindergartener has to wear it today so they are easily identified.

* On a side note, thank you all for leaving such heartfelt comments on my last post. We are still in shock and wish there was more we could do for Mary’s family at this devastating time.

Okay, I’ll cry for both of you. Leah just tugs at my heart. She’s at such a great age and is so darned cute. I’m sure you are so proud.

Love that saying. I’m going to have to post it somewhere in my office so I can remember it.

    Happy 1st day of school!

How cute she looks. The time seems to be clicking by so fast these days (despite the interminable wait).
